Best part of how weird it all was, is that everything was enjoyed and was popular. Brian setzers old rock style a nd the british synth only new wave lived side by side with equal popularity.

Absolutely. There’s an oldies station here that plays only 80's music (damn I feel old), and there’s quite the mix of genres, all of which I remember hearing on the airwaves when I was a kid. Pretty much the only 80's genre I don’t remember hearing much of was Country.
